Ruth Elizabeth Davis (1908-1989)
In my opinion, one of the greatest stars of the silver screen.Bette knew in high school she would become an actress. She studied acting at John Murray Anderson School of the Theater in New York City with none other than Lucille Ball. Davis made her Broadway Debut in 1929 and in 1930 went to Hollywood and signed with Universal Studios. She made her first film with Universal in 1931 in "Bad Sister", but soon moved to Warner Brothers where she was offered a long term contract.
